nicole reynolds - poems

wood

some days i'm as high as a plane
steady as an old steel train
strong as a farmers hand
peaceful as green valley land
other days i'm as low as an anchor
sinking down for a rusted tanker
hollow as a red balloon
mad as a loony tune
lonely as a weeping widow
cracked up as a broken window
angry as a tied up ram
tearful as the coulee dam
some days i'm as calm as a pond
naive as a lovers bond
lucky as an old horseshoe
bouncy as a kangaroo
and after all is said and through
wood is wood,
what can you do
